The 4th and last fixture is to be held next Thursday 30th at Eldwick after school.
Allister Truselle in year 6 has been representing our school in the Bradford Schools Athletic Association League Cross Country races. As he has been achieving top 10 finishing positions he was invited to take part in a qualifying event at Cliffe Castle. From this he managed to gain a place running for the Bradford team at Temple Newsom in the West Yorkshire Games Cross Country event. He gained 66th place in the Year 6 boys race against 149 other runners. A special well done to Alistair for achieving so much and trying so hard.
In April we entered 2 teams of Year 6 girls and boys into the Aire Valley Regional Tag Rugby Festival at Baildon Rugby Club.
In May we entered a team of Year 4 girls and boys into our Year 4 inter school Cricket competition at Saltaire Cricket Club.
In May we entered a Year 6 team of girls and boys into the inter school Cricket Tournament at the Bradford and Bingley Cricket Club in Bingley.
In May we entered a mixed girls and boys KS2 team into the Bradford Grammar Triathlon event run by the Brownlee Federation. The disciplines were swimming 300m, cycling 1k and running 400m. They didn't get to meet Johnny and Alistair Brownlee this time as they were away training for the world championships, but they all enjoyed trying out a new sport for the day.
We sent 2 Year 4 tennis teams to compete in the inter schools tennis tournament at Salts Tennis Club. Both teams did really well and our A Team made it through to the tournament finals. They secured the runner up position and some silver medals too. They are also through to the Bradford School Games Finals on 30th June.
On 30th June our Year 4 Tennis team competed in the Bradford School Games Finals at the University Academy in Keighley. Again they did really well and gained second position and silver medals again ! This means that they now qualify for representing Bradford in the West Yorkshire School Games on Fri 7th July.
On Fri 7th July our Year 4 tennis team competed in the West Yorkshire School Games at Leeds Beckett University. They played against the best school teams in Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Wakefield and Kirklees. They played extremely well against very tough competition. We didn't make the top 3 but we are all very proud of their achievements.
