Free School Meals
Could your child be entitled to Free School Meals (FSM)?
At Saltaire Primary School, if your child is entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) then we receive additional funding which we use in the following ways;
-
to provide financial support to parents/carers towards additional costs of education such as trips
-
to provide financial support to parents/carers to allow children to attend (normally paid for) extra-curricular activities and childcare.
-
to provide financial support towards uniform
-
to provide additional educational needs resources and,
-
to provide additional academic support for children who need to boost progress or be challenged further.
All pupils in reception, year one and year two in primary schools are entitled to ‘universal’ free school meals. This is not the same as ‘Free School Meals’ (FSM) which is based on income .
For each child registered for FSM, our school receives a pupil premium of £1,345 per year. This money is used to help your child achieve their best at school.
Saltaire Primary School is able to check whether your child is entitled to this benefit, on your behalf. The only details we need are your name, your date of birth and your National Insurance number.
To enable us to check on your behalf, please complete the following Google form or email jennimccarrick@saltaireps.co.uk:
